Foxhunters Care Community enhances resident care with Sensio Vista

When Foxhunters Care Community implemented the innovative web portal Sensio Vista, they didn’t just install new technology, they revolutionised their approach to care. The care home’s successful adoption of this feature for efficient digital supervision and real-time resident overview has set new standards for their care delivery.

Sensio is a leading provider of care technology in Europe through pioneering software and products, solving today's and tomorrow's care challenges for the benefit of residents, relatives, care teams and society. Due to the sharp increase in the number of elderly people and people living with dementia in the UK, as well as a shortage of care professionals, Sensio is focusing on the digital transformation of the care sector.

Vista romoversikt-1One of the newest innovations from Sensio is the web portal Vista. This user-friendly portal provides care teams with a real-time overview of resident and RoomMate sensor alarms and alerts and enables easier and more efficient digital supervisions. The overview in Vista can be used on larger screens such as TVs, PCs and tablets. The use of Vista via a PC can be especially useful for night care teams where night checks are done digitally.

Vista has made a real difference

Foxhunters_utsidenFoxhunters Care Community in Abergavenny, South Wales, is an award-winning Residential, Nursing & Dementia Care Home and part of the Dormy Care Communities group of homes. They deliver personalised residential, nursing and dementia care to the residents who live there.

At Foxhunters Care Community, the integration of Sensio Vista across their 70-room facility has transformed how their care teams monitor and support residents.

Leah Mort_Foxhunters“The Vista system is clever, compact, and exactly what we need,” says Leah Mort (pictured), Home Director at Foxhunters Care Community. “Having the visual overview on the large screens in our care hubs has made a real difference in our ability to quickly respond to residents who need assistance.”

The implementation spans four care hubs, each equipped with large-screen displays providing real-time status updates from resident rooms. This strategic placement ensures that all the care team working both night and day shifts maintain constant awareness of resident needs across all areas. The system’s intelligent design allows for floor-specific views, with each floor partnered with its opposite level for efficient escalation management.

Foxhunters_rom“The visual overview of all 70 rooms has been invaluable. It gives us immediate insight into where attention is needed, allowing our team to respond promptly to any situation,” Leah Mort explains.

Significant impact

The sophisticated falls detection in RoomMate and escalation protocol in Sensio Vista has proven particularly effective.

“When assistance is required, the system initiates a ten-minute escalation sequence, alerting the care team’s phones before notifying management if needed. This structured approach ensures that no call for help goes unanswered while maintaining efficient team deployment,” says Leah Mort.

The home has recently had their system upgraded to Sensio 365 which has given them enhanced reporting functionality amongst another new features. Many of these new features came in response to team feedback from Foxhunters as the first home in the UK to adopt Sensio RoomMate. This new functionality, combined with Vista, contribute to a much more intuitive and data-rich experience.

“The impact at Foxhunters has been significant. Team members report greater confidence in their ability to monitor and respond to resident needs, particularly during night shifts. The system’s compact view of all rooms, combined with intelligent falls detection, has created a more responsive and efficient care environment,” says Leah Mort at Foxhunters Care Community.

Foxhunters set a standard

Lisa Delaney, Country Manager Sensio UK, says that Foxhunters is a shining example of how digital transformation can truly elevate care.

Lisa Delaney_tight_1500x1200“Their commitment to innovation and quality shines through in how they’ve embraced Sensio Vista to enhance both responsiveness and resident safety. It’s inspiring to see how their team uses the system so effectively across all care hubs and shifts, setting a benchmark for modern, data-driven care. We’re proud to support such a forward-thinking partner,” says Lisa Delaney (pictured).

Looking ahead, Foxhunters’ successful pilot of Vista has not only improved their care delivery but also established a model for other care facilities considering similar digital solutions. As Leah Mort concludes:

“This system has exceeded our expectations. It’s exactly the solution we needed to enhance our care quality while supporting our team in delivering the best possible care to our residents.”
