Commissioned by Sensio and independently conducted by Care Research, the evaluation analysed real-world data from care providers using RoomMate, including falls, safeguarding incidents and team response times, alongside interviews with frontline teams and care leaders. 
The headline findings

Safeguarding falls reduced by up to 80%
Across services where comparable pre- and post-implementation data was available, safeguarding falls reduced by 51–80%, with an average reduction of around 61%.

More falls identified
Recorded falls, particularly bedroom falls, increased following implementation. However, with baseline detection rates very low, the research indicates that RoomMate was identifying falls that may previously have gone undetected or unrecorded - providing care teams with a more accurate picture of what was happening.

Faster response times
The majority of services saw measurable improvements in response times, with some more than halving the time taken to reach a resident following a fall or alert.

No increase in serious harm
Fractures and serious injuries remained consistently low, with no evidence of an increase associated with implementation.

Turning insight into action
The research also highlighted wider benefits reported by care teams, including better information for safeguarding investigations, earlier visibility of potential health concerns, less intrusive monitoring, improved documentation and increased family confidence.
