What do you think sets Sensio apart in the way it supports partners and helps them achieve long-term success?
"What I love about working for Sensio is the way we are empowered to treat our customers’ priorities as our own. By getting properly involved at a home level, we learn what drives adoption and where there may be sticking points in a new user’s journey. We can then take those insights back to our internal development team and make sure the changes customers need are part of the product development process. Owning the whole journey is a dream for a Customer Success team: it leads to more satisfied customers, but it also means the product strengthens over time."
For a potential resident and their family, how would you explain what Sensio does in simple, reassuring terms?
"Introducing Sensio is like introducing an extra layer of care, that’s always working, offering support 24/7. Our RoomMate sensor identifies any activity within the room, and notifies the care team if something happens that they need to be aware of. It’s unobtrusive, discreet but delivers an enormous amount of peace of mind."
What benefits might residents and families notice day to day when a home uses Sensio, particularly overnight or during quieter parts of the day?
"We regularly hear from homes how quiet it is after Sensio has been introduced. With alarms being routed to a carers pocket rather than the corridor walls, care teams are able to handle alarms much more responsively. We also hear about a difference at breakfast times, as residents have been less disturbed over night (due to less intrusive digital checks) most people have had a better nights sleep – and we can all appreciate how much of an impact that can have on our general mood and outlook."
What feedback have you recieved from residents, families, or care homes about Sensio's technology?
"We regularly seek feedback on our services, so that we can ensure they are meeting the needs of residents and care teams, and to help us continue to improve.
One of the things we hear most often is how RoomMate allows for care to be delivered with privacy and dignity first. Residents who are independent may not want, or need, to be checked on on a regular basis whilst in the comfort of their own rooms. Having RoomMate in place means that the care team can be assured of an individuals activity without having to disturb them.
Also, when a family member is visiting, or the care team is providing personal care, the sensor deactivates, ensuring that privacy is maintained."
How does Sensio support care teams to anticipate potential incidents before they escalate?
"Knowing when to step in is one of the most important parts of delivering care. Sensio supports this by tailoring alarms to the needs of an individual resident, so that key activities may trigger the attention of the care team, like leaving bed in the middle of the night for example.
By configuring the right alarms for a resident’s own personal needs and requirements, RoomMate can send alerts to care teams about developing situations before they potentially become incidents.
The care team can then complete a digital check of the room to assess the risk and make a decision about the level of care required. For example, a resident who requires a walking aid may need support if they have left the chair, a quick digital check can determine whether a visit to the room is required to reacquaint the resident with their walking aid or whether they already have it and are safely on the move."
