Following the rollout of Sensio's RoomMate technology, Cinnamon Care Collection achieved:

  • 63% reduction in emergency 999 callouts
  • 34% reduction in falls-related safeguarding incidents
  • Faster response times following falls
  • Earlier identification of changes in resident wellbeing
  • Improved overnight monitoring without intrusive checks
  • Increased team confidence and family reassurance

"We're really proud of the improved response times and the more proactive approach to care." Gavin Pathmarajan, Head of Care and Quality, Cinnamon Care Collection

Cinnamon Care Collection were looking for new ways to enhance resident safety while maintaining dignity, independence and quality of life.

Traditional monitoring methods could be disruptive, particularly overnight, and the team were seeking a solution that would help identify risks earlier, improve falls management and support a more proactive approach to care.

"We've always been keen to be at the forefront of evolving technology." Rob Burcher, Head of Support Services, Cinnamon Care Collection

After a successful pilot in two homes, Cinnamon rolled out Sensio's RoomMate technology across the group.

Sensio's privacy-first sensor technology helps create a safer environment for residents while preserving the things that matter most – independence, dignity and peace of mind. By discreetly identifying falls and changes in behaviour, it enables care teams to provide timely support without interrupting daily routines.

"The biggest change has been monitoring residents in a discreet, non-intrusive way while supporting independence." Gavin Pathmarajan

Sensio has significantly helped Cinnamon move towards a more proactive model of care.

By identifying patterns and behavioural changes, care teams have been able to intervene earlier and make more informed, data-fuelled decisions. In one instance, increased night-time bathroom visits highlighted through RoomMate data helped teams identify a urinary tract infection at an early stage – an incredible result.

According to Cinnamon Care Collection, the system has improved overnight care by reducing the need for routine room checks, helping residents enjoy more uninterrupted sleep while enabling teams to maintain oversight and respond when needed.

"Sensio allows us to identify patterns and trends without interrupting residents' daily lives." Gavin Pathmarajan

A shared commitment to person-centred care was at the heart of the partnership.

From the outset, the relationship was shaped by a shared commitment to quality care. By working closely together and learning from one another, Cinnamon and Sensio were able to create an approach that delivered real value for residents, reassured families and supported care teams in their day-to-day roles.

"The support, openness and willingness to learn and evolve together made a real difference." Gavin Pathmarajan

"It's very easy to work with values-based people. There's a real synergy between our values and the ability to challenge each other to drive a better outcome for the people we're looking after." Lisa Delaney, UK Country Director for Sensio

Cinnamon and Sensio continue to explore how data, AI and system integration can further enhance care delivery.

As the partnership continues to evolve, the focus remains on what matters most: helping residents enjoy the best possible quality of life. Future priorities include preventing falls, reducing unnecessary hospital admissions, supporting restful sleep and empowering care teams with insights that enable even more personalised care.
